The basic idea of “broken class” is come from 2 different stories.
The first story is from James Q.Wilson, an ecomomic, what he try to say is that when a kid made a glass windown broken, he would be shouted by the owner of the house, the glass maker will gain benefit from this acciden0 coz he could sale a new glass for the kis mom. But might be the candy seller will loss benefits, coz the mom will purnish the kid by not buy for him any candy in one week. WELL, that the copncept. And we can make it one step further and we can use it to explain any situation occur in this world. For example, a war will benefit weapon makers. Coz no war, no business for them at all. And no jobs for soldiers. But it will harm the governement sinceless people want to buy things, less sellers and less tax income for the government.
But think it further this way, if the mom don’t want the glass to broken, use wood or rubber windown then, or have a steel bar protection for it. My conclusion : people prefer things that are beautiful even though it not stable or easy to broken.--à bad habit.
Another idea related to broken glass is that “ if one glass can be broken, later on, all the glasses will be broken, too” The reason is that when one saw a broken glass, and no one care about fixing it or repair or finding or purnish the one who broke it. People would think that break a windown is nothing, so they would behave carelessly, and more windowns will be broken -à we are create a guilty-free zone. This kind of thinking is very dangerous.
Think of Vietnam as a good example, lots of things happened this way, collusion, everyone thought that well, it has been vietnam culture, it has long history, it in people minds, it can not be change , we are young, accept it then,
NO NO NO. PLEASE DON’T THINK IT THIS WAY.
Coz you are not cleaning the broken glasses, but you are assume that broken glass is sth must have in a room and pretent to make more glasses broken on the floor. One day, all on the floor is cover by broken glasses, every step in that room will get hurt and we can not live in that room anymore. Do you want this to happen????
So, now, wrap up all these broken glasses on the floor, set out rule not to break the glasses, purnish or don’t make friends with who break the glasses. Kick them out of our room. GUYS. DO IT NOW.!!!!
